POSITION SUMMARY
The Service Tech Level 4 will use their extensive experience in problem
solving and troubleshooting to diagnose complex issues and communicate
with the client, providing solutions for repairing or replacing their
HVAC Systems. This role will source all materials and equipment needed
to successfully complete the job and exceed the expectations of the client.
The STL4 operates with the highest level of integrity, providing customers
with a uniquely IMS experience in alignment organizational goals.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE
- Create full Scope of Work (SOW) and present proposal to customers: Estimate,
Labor-hour budget, and production rates
- Installation of HVAC Equipment (Package, Split System, Energy efficiency
equipment)
- Troubleshoot with high proficiency multiple mechanical system types: Refrigeration
cycle and components, Chilled water systems (pumps, cooling towers, valves),
Hot water systems (pumps), Variable refrigerant flow, Air distribution systems
- Troubleshoot with high proficiency multiple electrical system types: High
voltage, Low voltage, Variable frequency drives, Building automation controls
(Variable air volume, variable air temperature, Controls systems)
- Provide complete information and recommendations of repairs needed to clients
- Ensure all activities are completed according to the agreed upon plan and
specifications ● Perform HVAC repairs and communicate cost saving benefits
of proactive preventative maintenance
- Create and present proposals, providing information to client for repair approvals
- Ensure all safety requirements are being met throughout the project, and
review as needed with Safety Manager
- Work extended shifts and run after-hours calls on rotating schedule
- Maintain accurate truck stock levels and appropriate tool requirements
KEY COMPETENCIES
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill,
and/or ability required to be successful in this role but are not necessarily
all inclusive.
- Proficient in electrical controls, system troubleshooting, and schematics
of refrigeration cycle and components
- Ability to read and comprehend Mechanical Plans
- Knowledge of chiller systems, refrigeration, heat pump, pumps, oilers,
VRF, VFD’s, VAV’s, system design, duct systems, electrical
controls, equipment 50 Tons or larger
- Experience successfully maintaining a positive attitude while working in
a team environment with competing priorities
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Windows, Google Suite
- Ability to think critically, in the assessment of situations that will
move projects forward
- Excellent communication abilities to convey information to client and office staff
- Maintain professional relationships with leadership, engineers, and worksite teams
- Outstanding organization and administrative accountability for project outcomes
- Ability to think individually as well as collaboratively when approaching
co-workers
- Ability to read, interpret, and execute safety measures, procedure manuals,
and written correspondence
- Self-starter/Excellent work ethic
- Proactive approach to problem-solving, and process improvement

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) Required
- Certificate of completion from a HVAC Technical School
- Minimum of 10 years Commercial HVAC experience with progressive responsibilities
- Universal EPA Certification
- Current State Driver’s License & Clean Driving Record (Required)
- Background check (Required)
- VRF experience (Preferred)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, sitting, or walking
- Ability to work in enclosed environments exposed to excessive noise, and
cold or heat
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
- Possess tools needed
- Ability to work overtime (weekends)
- Position may require travel to and from field sites to monitor the status
of multiple projects
